I'm working with 1080p and it's a bit slow but it does work. I know it's not the best setup but to edit DV or 720p, you would do alright.

Adobe Premire, After Effects, Illustrator, and Flash are all 32-bit applications, meaning you could install 32GB of RAM and it wouldn't help you a bit! I'm still running CS4 (yes, in 2015 ) and just have to tweak other parts of my laptop to improve performance (SSD, Faster RAM instead of more, and an external USB 3.0 flash drive for exports and previews).
